about

YOUTH YOUTH YOUTH originally released a self titled 9 song demo cassette in summer 1982, had 4 songs on the T.O.H.C. '83 compilation tape in spring 1983, a 7 song 12 inch record called "SIN" in early 1984, one song on a B.Y.O. compilation record, then a 1989 re-release record called "REPACKAGED" which contained the "SIN" ep. plus some remixes of songs from the 82 demo plus out-takes.

ROB MALLION - guitars
BRIAN TAYLOR - voice
PAUL BISHOP - bass
BRIAN McCULLOUGH - drums

All songs written by Rob Mallion except "Made in England", "The one in the middle", "We can't be beaten", and "Louie louie / PT punks".

This YOUTH YOUTH YOUTH Anthology was remastered and compiled from the best quality sources found. Lots of work was done comparing different original archived cassettes and 1/4" tape stereo masters to find the best copies of each song.

Tracks 1 - 7
Recorded in June 1983 at Comfort Sound in Toronto, engineered by Blair Packham. Same mixes as originally released on the "SIN" ep 12" vinyl, taken from master tapes.

Track 8
Recorded in November 1983 at Comfort Sound, Toronto. Same mix and version that appeared on the BYO compilation in 1984.

Tracks 9 - 14
Recorded in March 1983 at Accusonic in Toronto, engineered by Paul Gallien. "Made in England", "Wanderlust" and "White Reggae" originally appeared on the T.O.H.C. '83 compilation cassette in spring 1983. "Made in England", "Pop song", and an edited version of "We can't be beaten" were remixed in 1989 and released on the "REPACKAGED" record but the mixes here are the original 83 ones. This recording of "The one in the middle/Bluestain" was never released.

Tracks 15 - 25
Recorded in June 1982 at Accusonic in Toronto, engineered by Paul Gallien. Original mixes taken from master tapes. Tracks 15 - 23 were released as the "YOUTH YOUTH YOUTH" demo cassette in 82. "Why me" and "Union Jackass" were out-takes from these tapes and never released.

Tracks 26 - 27
Taken from a remastered cassette of demos recorded at the bands rehersal spot in the Young Lions garage, late February 1982. Recorded live to tape through a small mixer. Lots of the early songs are recorded here, including these two never to be re-recorded songs.

Track 28
"Louie Louie/PTpunks was also recorded during the Accusonic June 82 session, but left off the demo tape. It was released on the "REPACKAGED" record in a remixed form along with tracks 15, 19, 20, 22 and 23.
